ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Compliance Manager (m/f/d) at Pliant, you will play a critical role in ensuring our AML and compliance framework is robust and effective. Reporting to the MLRO/Compliance Officer and operating within the second line of defense, you will be responsible for refining transaction monitoring strategies to effectively detect suspicious behaviors, in alignment with regulatory requirements and Pliant's high standards for compliance.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Take responsibility for creating, updating, and maintaining policies and procedures, with a focus on transaction monitoring. Ensure that all policies are comprehensive, clear, and aligned with Pliant’s Compliance/AML framework and evolving regulatory requirements.
- You will support both in the preparation of the risk analysis and in the preparation of the compliance/AML reports.
- As a specialist, you will advise colleagues, specialist departments and our Group companies on topics relating to money laundering and fraud prevention.
- In particular, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing KYC processes and proactively working on the implementation of new regulatory and legal requirements.
- Support on oversee, analyze and improve transaction monitoring and screening processes to ensure they meet regulatory and internal standards. Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancements, including refining monitoring rules, thresholds, and alert handling.
- Support in the enforcement of controls as part of the compliance monitoring plan.
- Provide training and ongoing guidance to first-line teams on AML best practices, indicators of financial crime, and case escalation protocols. Foster a culture of compliance awareness and accountability.
- Prepare and present regular reports on monitoring activities, escalation trends, and process improvements to senior management. Act as a key compliance liaison, facilitating open communication with first-line teams on process updates and expectations. If necessary, you will independently submit reports to FIU.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Experience: 3-5 years in AML, transaction monitoring or compliance in a financial institution or fintech environment, with a strong understanding of second-line responsibilities.
- Leadership and Supervision Skills: Experience in overseeing and guiding different teams (e.g compliance operations, product, sales), with the ability to assess, provide feedback, and drive process improvements.
- Analytical Expertise: Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify patterns, assess risks, and recommend changes to transaction monitoring processes.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English to effectively guide first-line teams and present complex information clearly to stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: A structured, detail-oriented approach with a commitment to maintaining accuracy and consistency in process reviews and documentation.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Proficiency in Finnish AML regulations, transaction monitoring best practices, and a proactive approach to compliance. Knowledge about an outsourcing framework would be an advantage.
