ABOUT THE ROLE

Join us as a fully remote, part-time On-call Agent (Card Payments & Fintech Operations) (m/f/d) and play a key role in optimizing and safeguarding global payment operations. This is your opportunity to gain real-world fintech experience, working at the intersection of technology, payments, and financial operations.

You'll be part of a leading fintech specializing in card payments and Cards-as-a-Service (CaaS), where you'll investigate payment issues, automate reconciliations, analyze incidents, and collaborate with developers to improve systems.

💼 Approx. 20 hours per week (including weekends and some evening work).
🎯 Perfect for engineering students, interns, or tech-savvy candidates eager to dive into fintech operations!

Working hours:

Fridays: 13:00 – 20:00 CET

Saturdays & Sundays: 09:00 – 18:00 CET

Mondays: 08:00 – 11:00 CET

WHAT YOU’LL DO

🚨 Incident Detection & Real-Time Monitoring

  • Monitor real-time payment transactions and APIs, flagging anomalies in real-time.
  • Investigate payment failures, delays, and unexpected transaction declines using logs and dashboards.
  • Analyze system alerts, payment flows, and card processing events, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Work with developers to identify and resolve payment-related bugs.

💳 Payment Processing & Automation

  • Analyze and optimize payment workflows, helping automate reconciliation and reporting.
  • Ensure smooth execution of card payments, authorizations, and settlements.
  • Review and trigger payment orders, checking for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support the engineering team in implementing automated reconciliation tools.

📊 Data-Driven Problem Solving & Reporting

  • Use SQL, Python, or other tools to extract and analyze payment data.
  • Work closely with finance, compliance, and risk teams to ensure regulatory adherence.

🛠️ Ticket Management & DevOps Collaboration

  • Log, investigate, and track incidents using Jira or similar tools.
  • Ensure escalations are assigned efficiently, working alongside developers and operations teams.
  • Contribute to process automation and workflow improvements.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Currently studying or recently completed a degree in:

  • Engineering (Software, Electrical, Industrial, etc.)
  • Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical fields

Tech skills (the more, the better! 🚀)

  • Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, or scripting languages (huge plus for debugging & automating reports).
  • Interest in payment APIs, financial transactions, and real-time monitoring tools.
  • Experience with data analysis, error logs, or DevOps tools (even from university projects!).
  • Basic understanding of payments, banking, or reconciliation workflows is a plus!

Problem-Solving & Curiosity

  • Strong analytical skills, with a structured approach to troubleshooting.
  • Eager to dive deep into fintech systems, learning how payment flows work behind the scenes.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, real-time environments where decisions matter.

Communication & Ownership

  • Clear communicator who can translate technical findings into actionable insights.
  • Autonomous mindset—you’ll be responsible for monitoring critical operations.
