ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a Software Engineer - Infrastructure *remote* (m/f/d). As part of the Engineering department, you will join one of our cross-functional teams of frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and designers.

You will be playing a key role in delivering innovative features paired with a great user experience to our business customers. For this purpose, you have good attention to detail and don’t just work on code but bring a product to life!

Our platform runs on AWS, set up using Terraform, and we deploy our services using GitHub Actions. The tooling we maintain as a platform team is mostly written in Golang, Python, and JavaScript. Feature teams build JVM based services backed by Kafka and PostgreSQL databases, to bring information to our apps written in React and React Native.

This role is remote, however will be based in the EU, or Germany ideally.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Build foundational cloud infrastructure and tooling to scale our operations by several orders of magnitude on AWS, using Infrastructure as code.
  • Identify opportunities to improve KPIs and take ownership of your projects, from the design to operating your solutions in production environments.
  • Cooperate with feature teams to align infrastructure and developer tooling with business goals and processes.
  • Proactively support the engineering community by engaging in knowledge sharing about technical topics with an operational excellence focused mindset.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Background in Software engineering with experience in designing and operating resilient microservice architectures.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, Golang, Javascript or Java
  • Expertise in designing, building, and managing future-proof cloud infrastructure, following a data-driven approach to justify architectural decisions and their trade-offs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to tackle challenging projects spanning across layers of abstraction from configuration and code to multi-regional infrastructure deployments.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
