ABOUT THE ROLE

🛡️ Are you experienced in transaction monitoring and AML alert review, and looking to take your expertise to a fast-scaling fintech?

🚀As we expand across Europe and prepare for the US launch, we're building out our Transaction Monitoring function and seeking a Transaction Monitoring Specialist (m/f/d) to support daily AML surveillance and review high-risk activity across our payment ecosystem.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

🔍 Transaction Monitoring & Alert Handling

• Review daily transaction alerts generated by our AML monitoring system, investigating suspicious activity across payment flows.
  Analyze transaction patterns to identify signs of money laundering, terrorist financing, or financial crime.
  Escalate cases appropriately and document findings in a clear, structured, and auditable manner.
• Contribute to tuning and improving detection logic, alert thresholds, and risk typologies.
  
  

🚨 Escalations & Incident Support

• Participate in fraud- or AML-related incident investigations.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Risk teams on high-risk cases, including PEP, sanctions, and repeat alerts.
• Help refine escalation workflows and root cause documentation.
  
  

📊 Risk Insights & Rule Improvement

• Use dashboards or SQL to analyze monitoring results and identify patterns or false positives.
• Support backtesting and scenario development to improve detection coverage and efficiency.
  
  

🤝 Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

• Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Compliance to evolve our monitoring tools and internal processes.
  Share feedback on system performance, data gaps, or alert logic based on real-world cases.
• Stay informed on AML trends, emerging risks, and typology updates.
  
  

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 2+ years of experience in transaction monitoring or AML investigations — or strong motivation to grow into the role if you’re earlier in your career.
  
• Strong knowledge of AML typologies, red flags, and patterns of financial crime (senior candidates).
  
• Experience working with transaction monitoring tools (e.g. Actimize, SAS, ComplyAdvantage, or similar).
  
• Understanding of rule development, tuning, and alert optimization.
  
• Familiarity with EU AML regulations and industry best practices; exposure to BaFin, FCA, or FinCEN is a plus.
  
• Technical affinity and the ability to collaborate with engineers and product managers on tooling enhancements.
  
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail and operational discipline.
  
• Fluency in English; other European languages are a plus.
