ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a (Junior) Credit Risk Officer (m/f/d) to support our growing risk organization.

As a (Junior) Credit Risk Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the design, implementation and operation of controls for our credit risk management function. You’ll contribute to ensuring that credit risk contained in our credit card exposures to SME and corporate customers in the EEA, UK and US is properly identified, measured, and reported in line with our internal policies and regulatory expectations. The position is part of the second line of defense and interacts between regulatory requirements and risk operations.

You’ll gain hands-on experience and build valuable skills in credit risk oversight, portfolio analytics, and governance within a dynamic and challenging fintech environment. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach combined with curiosity and a willingness to grow professionally and personally.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Your daily tasks include:

  • Risk reporting & analysis: Assist in identifying and tracking key risk metrics, adverse trends and early warning indicators across our portfolio of credit risk exposures with international SME and corporate customers. Perform industry and country risk analysis.
  • Quality assurance: Conduct regular hands on spot checks on credit decisions to ensure our 1st LoD risk function adheres to set standards. Present your findings to our internal credit risk committee.
  • Credit risk strategy: Support the development and ongoing improvement of credit risk strategies, including assisting with model development. Maintain clear documentation and support the consistent application of the credit risk and debt collection policies.
  • Vendor management: Take ownership of continuous vendor management tasks such as vendor risk assessment (e.g., credit agencies, data aggregators). Ensure smooth collaboration, timely updates, and alignment of business requirements across teams.
  • Innovation: Explore data, processes, and systems further automate credit risk strategies. Support the identification, assessment and implementation of new technologies, including AI. Contribute ideas to challenge existing standards and drive efficiency, and implement them within set deadlines.
  • Communication & collaboration: Work as part of a cross-functional team to ensure consistent information flow and transparent reporting. Learn to present analytical findings clearly and confidently, supporting a culture of open and fact-based dialogue.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in credit risk, financial analysis, or audit (internships included).
  • Good understanding of credit risk principles, financial statements, and portfolio metrics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to produce tangible and high quality results under pressure.
  • Good command of Excel; knowledge of SQL, Python, or BI tools is a plus.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Motivation to learn, grow, and contribute in a fast-moving fintech environment.
