ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Senior Brand Designer (m/f/d) with a strong focus on Event Design to take ownership of one of Pliant’s most business-critical brand touchpoints.

Events are a key growth lever for Pliant — across Europe, the UK, and the US — and this role will lead the visual direction, execution, and evolution of our event presence as we scale. You’ll design everything from booths and physical spaces to print assets, merchandise, and supporting collateral, and work closely with our events and marketing teams to push how Pliant shows up in the real world.

While events are your core focus, you’ll also work across the broader brand ecosystem. We’re a small team (4 people with you), so you’re comfortable switching contexts — contributing to website designs, campaigns, ads, social content, and sales materials when needed, without losing ownership of events.

Pliant has design in its DNA: the brand design team reports directly to one of the founders. We care deeply about craft, clarity, and systems. We thrive on finding the best solutions to design problems and have a philosophy that we hire people that have a keen interest in helping us shape our expansion and being part of the team for years to come.

If you’re fluent in Figma, Adobe Illustrator, confident in print set up and production, experienced in event design, and excited to build a world-class event presence in a fast-growing fintech, this role is for you.

Although we have London listed as the main location, we value flexibility to work remotely or hybrid from one of our hubs (Berlin, London, Vienna, Helsinki). If not based in London, you ideally must be able to join team meetings throughout the year and be within a +/- 3 hour of GMT timezone.

Please attach your CV, portfolio, and a direct link to at least one event design case study where you designed a booth and other collateral.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Lead Event Design

  • Own the visual design for all Pliant events across Europe, the UK, and the US.
  • Design event booths, physical spaces, signage, flyers, print assets, and merch, from concept to production.
  • Partner closely with our events and marketing teams to ideate how Pliant can stand out visually at events and continuously raise the bar.
  • Translate brand strategy into compelling, scalable physical brand experiences.
  • Ensure high production quality by managing print setup, handovers, and supplier-ready files.

Brand Design (Beyond Events)

  • Contribute to multi-channel brand design across digital and physical touchpoints: website design and visuals, campaign assets, ads, social content, sales decks, and collateral.
  • Work hands-on in Figma first, with smooth translation to Illustrator for print production.
  • Maintain and evolve our brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Collaborate closely with brand, marketing, content and product teams.
  • Proactively own and lead projects end-to-end — from concept and execution to feedback and iteration.

Ways of Working

  • Bring structure and clarity to your work: organised files, clean systems, and thoughtful documentation.
  • Actively contribute to improving processes and collaboration as the team scales.
  • Embrace variety — you’re happy being thrown into different design challenges while keeping events as your core responsibility.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 5+ years of experience in brand design, visual communication, or graphic design, with proven hands-on experience in event design (agency or in-house). You have worked at least 1 year already in a senior role.
  • Strong experience designing event booths, physical environments, print assets, and merch.
  • Fluency in Figma and translating designs into Adobe Illustrator for print production (print setup knowledge is a must).
  • Strong visual craft across layout, typography, and physical-to-digital brand translation.
  • A proactive, organised, and ownership-driven mindset — you’re comfortable working autonomously in a small senior team.
  • Clear decision-making skills and the ability to explain and defend design choices to stakeholders (including founders).
  • Openness to feedback and a genuine interest in growing alongside the team.
  • Motion design skills are a plus, but not a must.
  • Experience in fintech or B2B is nice to have, but event experience is essential.
  • Our company values align with yours: Push It, Own It, Open Up, Be Kind, Have Fun, Be Pliant

WHAT WE OFFER

  • The opportunity to work in a growing team with big responsibilities that thrives on a strong exchange of knowledge and excellence
  • Attractive remuneration
  • Your choice of preferred OS, Windows or Mac → Just kidding, you will be on a Mac.
  • Flat hierarchy and transparent communication in a relaxed, professional atmosphere
  • Opportunity to develop your talent in a dynamic team with ambitious goals
  • Flexibility and possibility to work remotely
  • Company card with a monthly allowance for lunches, coffee, etc. with co-workers

At Pliant, we believe diversity and inclusion are essential to building not only an innovative product but also an exceptional experience for both our customers and our team. This commitment begins with our hiring process—we welcome individuals of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, religions, national origins, gender identities or expressions, sexual orientations, ages, marital statuses, and abilities. If you require accommodations or accessibility support during the interview process, please let us know in your application so we can make sure your experience is seamless.
