ABOUT THE ROLE

As (Senior) Product Manager - Accounting Integrations (m/f/d), you will own the strategy, prioritization, and delivery of Pliant’s accounting integrations and the underlying integration platform.

Your mission is to turn accounting integrations from a series of bespoke projects into a scalable, repeatable system, enabling Pliant to integrate with ERPs and accounting systems quickly, reliably, and at scale. You will work at the intersection of product, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure integrations are both technically robust and commercially impactful.

You will lead a cross-functional product team of backend and frontend engineers and collaborate closely with Sales, Partnerships, Solutions Engineering, Operations, and Finance to prioritize integrations based on real business impact.

This role sits within the PAW group of Pliant’s tech organization and reports to the Head of Product - PAW.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Strategy & Ownership

• Own the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and prioritization for Pliant’s accounting integrations
• Define how Pliant integrates with external accounting systems across markets, balancing customer needs, scalability, and commercial impact
• Translate diverse and often customer-specific accounting requirements into a clear, scalable product direction

Product & Platform Development

• Define and build the accounting integration abstraction layer, including core data models, mapping logic, synchronization patterns, and error handling
• Shape a consistent and reusable integration architecture that supports multiple systems (e.g. NetSuite, QuickBooks, DATEV, Xero)
• Establish standards and templates that enable integrations to be developed in a predictable and repeatable way

Execution & Delivery

• Drive the delivery of key integrations (e.g. Sage Intacct) as proof of the abstraction approach
• Define clear product requirements and work closely with engineering to ensure high-quality, reliable delivery across integrations
• Identify and remove bottlenecks in integration delivery, onboarding, and support
• Improve how integrations are implemented, configured, and used by customers
• Work cross-functionally with commercial, operations, and other product teams to ensure integrations deliver real customer value and support growth

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• 5+ years of product management or relevant experience in fintech, payments, accounting systems, or platform products
• Strong understanding of accounting systems (e.g. NetSuite, QuickBooks, DATEV, Xero) and how businesses use them in practice, including differences across markets and customer segments
• Experience building or managing integrations, APIs, or platform products, ideally across multiple external systems with differing data models and constraints
• Ability to understand complex, often customer-specific accounting requirements (e.g. local standards, workflows, or edge cases) and translate them into scalable product solutions
• Experience working with structured financial data (e.g. transactions, invoices, ledgers) and designing systems for mapping, synchronization, and reconciliation across systems
• Strong ability to navigate and structure complexity, such as:
  • differing accounting standards and market-specific requirements
  • varying levels of API maturity across systems
  • evolving customer and partner needs
• Technical fluency and ability to work closely with backend engineers on APIs, data models, and integration logic
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive decisions, prioritize effectively, and move forward in complex environments
• Excellent communication skills and ability to drive alignment across teams
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
